Jacksonville zoo holds charity walk
Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens will be holding the 2024 Northeast Florida Walk & Roll to Cure FSHD coming in early September.
Proceeds from the walk will go to the FSHD Society the world's largest organization providing research for the treatment and cure of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). The organization will provide funds for the research, patient education and to empower families dealing with the illness.
Although registration is free, Walk and Roll participants are asked to raise funds, invite friends and neighbors, and share their stories via email and social media. Non-participants may also create their own fundraising pages. One-time donations of $50, $100, $250 and $500 may also be made online.
Large businesses and organizations often give monetary corporate gifts to charity events such as this.
Six sponsorship levels are also available. Free in-kind partners will be providing promotional products to the participants. Other sponsorships range from $250 to $2500, and each sponsor at the $500 and higher levels will have their logo design placed on event t-shirts and verbal recognition at the event's opening ceremony. Exhibition space will be given to gold ($1500) and platinum ($2500) sponsors. These sponsors will need to get a little banner printing done to hang banners in these spaces.
2024 Northeast Florida Walk & Roll to Cure FSHD will take place on Saturday, September 7th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, 370 Zoo Parkway.
