Jacksonville ready to feel the blues

Jacksonville blues enthusiasts will be heading to the 33rd Annual Springing the Blues Festival coming in early April.

The free three-day outdoor event will celebrate this timeless US genre by featuring local, regional, and national blues artists on the venue's two stages.

On the first day, the SeaWalk Pavilion will have four acts, including D.K. Harrell and Yates McKendree. The Mo' Blus Stage’s lineup will include The Mississippi Blues Band and the JP Soars Gypsy Blue Revue with Anne Haris.

Performances at the SeaWalk Pavilion on the second day will have eight bands including Lower Case Blues, Zac Harmon, and Victor Wainwright and the Train. The Mo' Blues Stage will also have eight bands including The Cold Stares, Eliza Neals, and Southern Avenue.

On the last day both stages will feature six bands. The SeaWalk Pavilion will end the evening with North Mississippi Allstars while the Mo' Blues Stage will wrap up the festival with Brett Barnard and the Hitman Band. Other activities will include a food court, a children's activity area, and an arts marketplace. Artists at marketplaces like this often slip Business Cards in with purchases.

The 33rd Annual Springing the Blues Festival will take place over the weekend of April 4, 5, and 6 at the Oceanfront SeaWalk Pavilion and Latham Plaza, 75 First Street North, Jacksonville Beach.
