Jacksonville OCEARCH holds annual Florida FinFest

OCEARCH, a data-centric non-profit organization that aids scientists in collecting ocean data, will be the beneficiary of the proceeds from the Florida Fin Fest coming in mid-September.

The 18 music groups on the lineup will include Tank and the Bangas, Fortunate Youth, Shawayze and the Honey Hounds. Other artists will be The Lee Boys, Sam Burchfield, Airpark, and special guest Max Danger.

This two-day festival will also feature ocean education and conservation. The Ocean Conservancy will offer an Education Village where MOSH will present a mobile planetarium, Jacksonville University will bring touch tanks, and there will be an immersive underwater VR (virtual reality) experience.

This year’s Speaker Series will feature Marine Science Conservation from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Jacksonville University, Florida’s Plastic Pollution from 4:15 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, Florida’s Water Quality Woes from 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm and Fin Fest’s Guide to being an Ocean Steward from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm on Saturday.

A Festival Village will offer merchandise from conservation, sustainability, and environmentally friendly vendors, and food from ten food trucks.

Vendors at events such as this often have event-related graphic design printed on their paper products.

Gates open at 3:00 pm, Friday September 15th and noon on Saturday, September 16th at the Seawalk Pavilion, 75 1st Street North, Jacksonville Beach.
