Jacksonville celebrates nations

The City of Jacksonville will be celebrating 24 world cultures in a World of Nations Celebration coming in mid-February. This will be the 31st year for the two-day event.

Attendees will experience unique heritages and cultural traditions of many countries. Besides the US, participating nations will include South American nations like Venezuela and Peru, European ones like Spain and Italy, several in the Caribbean and Central America, and China and Japan in East Asia. Cities that hold events such as this often take colorful pictures during the festivities, then take them to local Print shops to be used in the following year’s visitor guide brochure printing.

Cultural non-profit organizations representing any of the participating countries have been invited to bring tastes, sounds, and sights of their country to the event.

Advanced tickets are $5, while adult tickets at the door will be $10 for adults and $8 for children from four to seventeen years old. Kids three years old and younger will not need tickets.

All City of Chesterfield transactions – including beverages, parking, and tickets – purchased on site will be cashless. Parking is available in TIAA Bank Field Lots C, D, and J, and will be $10 per car.

World of Nations Celebration 2023 will take place at Tailgaters Parking 225, Talleyrand Avenue, February 18th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and February 19th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
