Circus comes to town

The Greatest Show on Earth will be coming to Jacksonville in the second half of the month.

The reimagined show will have 75 performers from 18 countries presenting an immersive and interactive experience complete with stunts, comedic acts, and aerobatic displays.

The Lopez Family will be riding bikes, performing handstands, and jumping over each other’s shoulders on the Triangular Highwire. Daredevils will be attempting somersaults and leaps on the Double Wheel of Destiny, which consists of two rapidly spinning wheels positioned 30 feet in the air.

Comedic silliness will be provided by Nick Nack and the Ukraine-based Equivokee trio.

The 360-degree Ultimate Playground will transform into a skatepark with BMX, extreme unicycle, and trail bike riders carrying out stunts on a trampoline and double-sided ramps.

One Wheel Wonder, Wesley Williams will ride 10 different unicycles, including an accordion-like one that grows to 34 feet tall.

Nine trapeze artists will perform high-flying maneuvers on a Criss-Cross Trapeze, with Skyler, the Ringling Rocket, launching at 65mph across the arena.

A dance troupe will offer a fusion of the fiery Argentine Malambo and Boleadoras dances, with a show titled Argendance.

Circuses occasionally arrange poster printing when they go to larger cities like Jacksonville.

The Greatest Show on Earth will be in Jacksonville on Friday, January 19 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, January 20 at 11:00 am, 3:00 pm, and 7:00 pm; and, Sunday January 21, at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena.
