Once again, Jacksonville Caribbean Carnival Weekend will be coming with its parade, festival, and concert in mid-August.
The festivities will offer everything from exotic food, crafts, and music, including steel drums and live performers. Over 3,000 people are expected to attend.
The carnival’s premier event, Mega Glow, will be held in MAA Hall, 8206 Phillips Highway. This is a Wear White Affair and will feature top music artists and a cast of DJs. Tier 1 tickets are $35 and Tier 2 tickets are $40.
Mega Glo will be Friday, August 11, with doors opening at 9:00 pm, and the event continuing well after midnight.
The Carnival will begin at noon and will have arts and crafts vendors, food from over 20 vendors, family fun, a kid zone, and live entertainment. A costume street parade will pass through the venue with glitzily costumed steel bands, and a concert will be held at the close of the evening featuring both local and international artists and dancers.
Pictures taken at events such as this are often sent to local Print shops to become part of the city’s visitors guides.
Tier 2 general admission tickets are $20, general admission plus Showtime is $25, and covered VIP seating with food vendors and a cash bar is $80.
The Carnival will be at Metropolitan Park, 1410 Gator Bowl Boulevard, on August 12. The event will end at 9:00 pm.
