United Healthcare Brings 125 jobs To Area

United Healthcare plans to open a new call center in Miami. The Call Center will bring as many as 125 jobs to Hialeah and the surrounding area.

The company currently employs over 5,000 people in Florida, and it assists over 2 million Florida members in their efforts to live a healthier life. The new Call Center will offer customer service and support to approximately 165,000 customers in the area who are members of the United Healthcare Community Plan of Florida and their beneficiaries. Member of the company’s Medicare and Medicaid programs, Long Term Care and Florida Healthy Kids programs will also benefit from the new Call Center.

New and expanding businesses moving into the area could mean additional business for local printing companies in Hialeah and the surrounding area, as many of these companies require printing services in the form of business card printing and Stationery printing to establish themselves in a new location. Brochure printers and banner printing may also be needed to make services known to local customers.

Sen. Rene Garcia, District 40, R-Hialeah, stated his thanks to United Healthcare for creating employment and service to South Florida. He was quoted as saying:

"In today's tough economy, economic development is a high priority.

"I would like to thank United Healthcare for its commitment to the people of South Florida by creating jobs and opportunities. The creation of over 120 jobs is a great thing for the constituents of my district and Miami-Dade County."

Rep. Jeanette Nunez of Miami also expressed her gratitude to United Healthcare for helping the state take a step in the direction of furthering economic development.
