The city of Hialeah is hosting the 2014 Literary Fair this September and celebrating Florida Adult and Family Literary Month, which is promoted by the Florida Literacy Coalition. It is only one of many events held all over the state.
Activities will be taking place both indoors and out. There will be author appearances and talks, live performances, refreshments, food trucks, and music. There is also set to be arts and crafts activities for people of all ages. Community groups will also be on hand to provide the public with information about their programs and services, especially those based around reading and writing. Attendees are also encouraged to dress up as their favorite literary character.
In past years, the types of activities taking place at the festival have included face painting, bounce houses, carnival rides, readings, a petting zoo, and workshops. No doubt some of these will be repeated this year.
Those community organizations that plan to be on hand will likely be handing out informative literature to those who stop by. Hialeah Print companies are often asked to help provide printed materials such as Booklets, Brochures, and Postcards.
The Literary Fair is taking place at the John F. Kennedy Library on September 27th from 12:00pm - 4:00pm. Admission is free.
