The 31st annual Miami Book Fair International is taking place in the city for eight days this November.
This year's book fair is expected to feature approximately 500 authors from around the world; among those confirmed are Joyce Carol Oates, Patricia Cornwell, Walter Mosley, and Larry McMurtry.
Many of the authors will be appearing at ‘Evenings with...’ discussion events. In addition, there will be creative writing workshops for those who hope to be published themselves.
A street festival is also being held on the weekend during the fair. This is set to have over 350 author readings, a children's alley, the school of comics, and at least 250 publishers and booksellers.
Other activities taking place include the Playtime Children's Theatre Festival from Teotro Prometeo and ‘6 words Miami’, in which members of the public submit stories with a word count of just six. Visitors can also relax at The Swamp while enjoying live music, author readings, and Florida stories.
Book lovers from all over the area, including nearby Hialeah, will no doubt want to make their way to the fair. Local printing companies may be helping advertise by providing Booklets and Flyers to be distributed.
