Celebrating paint, powder and water, J’ouvert is a term in Creole French that means “daybreak” or “dawn”. The colorful and talented festival, originally booked in April, has been rebooked for late summer and will take place near Hialeah at West Palm Beach.
Originating in the Caribbean and its carnival-style celebrations, the event took place at different times of the day with varying activities by islands and communities. Today, it is celebrated beginning at daybreak.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a flag, enjoy some music and drinks, and sit back to relish the sunrise. They can dance, eat, socialize and have a relaxing and fun day as the event goes on.
Poster printing is often a project requested by event organizers. Local printing services can create lively, attractive Posters that provide concise details about an upcoming event. These can be placed in high-traffic areas to attract attention and increase attendance.
Breakfast items as well as drinks will be onsite for purchase, although guests are advised that no outside drinks or food will be allowed in the venue. Parking will be available.
The People’s J’ouvert will be held at the FITTEAM Ballpark of The Palm Beaches, which is located at 5444 Haverhill Road. It will be held on Saturday, August 15, getting started at 10:00 am and running through 3:00 pm.
