There are two different ways in which residents of Hialeah can celebrate the Fourth of July this year.
The annual Independence Day Celebration, presented by the City of Hialeah, will be an afternoon filled with fun and fireworks. Guests will enjoy musical entertainment, dance performances and the Kid Zone. Food and drink will be available for purchase. There will also no doubt be a number of speeches from city officials, the raising of the flag and the singing of the national anthem. The event will finish off with a fireworks and laser light show beginning at 10:00 PM.
For those who enjoy running, the Independence Day 5K/10K is taking place throughout the month of July. Proceeds go to support the Wounded Warrior Project. Participants choose their own course, time it themselves and set their own distance goals. Those who wish to take part can sign up through the WalkJogRun website. Participation fees are $22 per person and everyone receives a medal.
