WalletHub ranked 100 cities using a range of 18 different metrics. Overall, Irvine, California ranked highest for economic wellness, pulling first place, but Hialeah was noted as one of the leaders in low unemployment along with Irvine and Laredo, Texas.
There are more than 21 million veterans living in the U.S. Though unemployment for veterans is close to hitting an all-time low, the unemployment rate for veterans remains higher than the unemployment rates for civilians, adding significance to Hialeah’s achievement.
Irvine earned an economic wellness rank of 1 per WalletHub's ranking system. In the categories of environment, education, and health, Irvine earned a ranking of 25.
Scottsdale, Arizona and Raleigh, North Carolina also earned high economic wellness rankings. From metric to metric, all 100 cities on the list ranked differently. In the specific category of military skill-related jobs, for instance, Fremont, California ranked highest.
