The Galleon Open Golf Classic will be holding a special golfing event titled ‘Reggae on the Green’ for St. Patrick’s Day.
The Galleon Foundation is a charitable organization founded to aid disadvantaged children as they prepare for their future. It offers scholarships and mentoring programs to children in at-risk neighborhoods and schools, as well as sponsorship to other organizations that donate school supplies to children in need. The nonprofit raises money through ticket sales at its annual events, with a portion going directly to operating the foundation.
The Galleon Open is one of four events held each year to support this charitable organization. It is advertised as both an opportunity to draw awareness to the foundation and as a time for the sponsors of The Galleon Foundation to have a little fun.
This will be the third annual tournament taking place at the club for the charity, and it will be hosted this year by the reigning Miss Jamaica, with other pageant contestants also in attendance.
Miramar businesses, golf shops and others in the area are welcome to contact the club or the foundation to learn more about how to sponsor the 2018 event. Cash donations, promotional merchandise, and fundraising efforts are all needed. The golf event is scheduled to take place on March 17 at Shula's Golf Club in Hialeah, Florida.
