The Cultural Fridays Walking Tours, conducted by Dr. Paul George in Miami, will continue in 2022.
The first tour date has been set in January, no doubt to the delight of Miami culture vultures and visitors from neighboring communities such as Hialeah. Dr. George has been working with Viernes Culturales (meaning ‘Cultural Fridays’ in Spanish) for 21 years.
Little Havana is considered the Ellis Island of Miami. The community is rich in culture where immigrants have developed their lives, bringing the opportunity to learn about the diverse customs and heritage to the public.
Dr. George takes participants on a free walking tour through the Little Havana area, where they can view historic art through the many galleries in Calle Ocho. The tour takes guests along SW 8th Street moving to the restaurant scene where dinner will be enjoyed at a Cuban Cafecito or similar.
Shopping is a highlight as visitors explore the unique and authentic treasures found in the area during their tour. Street dancing and local pubs are also part of the fun.
With the help of poster printing companies, Posters can be created to include information about each stop on tours like this, including history, attractions, and venues.
The first tour of 2022 is scheduled for January 21. Tours are free, but participants must sign up in advance. A donation to the organization is highly encouraged. The tour will begin at Domino Park located at 801 SW 15 Avenue.
