Event showcases Haitian food and culture

The 3rd Taste of Haiti Miami festival is taking place this May, presented by the Haitian Culinary Alliance.

The festival is set to feature a variety of dishes from local restaurants and caterers, giving a flavor of the Caribbean nation. There will also be a chef cook-off, in which four chefs will be given a mystery basket of ingredients and expected to create a dish in 45 minutes using all of them. Attendees will be able to vote on the ‘People's Choice’.

Other things taking place will include musical performances, arts and crafts vendors, and family activities. Sponsorships are available for local business.

There are two other events going on that are related to this festival. The night before it, the Haiti Chefs for Education will be holding a fundraising dinner gala. Then, on the day after the main event, a there will be a Mother's Day Brunch.

It is likely that people from surrounding areas such as Hialeah will want to take a short trip to attend one of these events. Organizers might decide to invest in Brochures or Flyers from local printing companies to make advertising easier.

The Taste of Haiti Miami festival will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts Courtyard on May 10 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Admission is free. To find out more about events from the Haitian Culinary Alliance, contact Alain Lemaire at 305-814-2431.
