Chef competition to crown one champion

The Miami New Times Iron Fork competition is taking place this at the end of the month, presented by the Downtown Development Authority.

Two local chefs will be competing for glory in this culinary competition, which is hosted by Allan Susser. Chefs Aaron Brooks and Todd Erickson will both be given a basket of foods and asked to create a dish from them. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Also, over 45 area restaurants will be providing unlimited sampling of their various dishes. VIP guests will have a special seating area and have access to an open bar, while general admission guests will be able to purchase beer or wine at a cash bar.

Live music is set to be provided by Supersede. There will also be a silent auction to raise funds for Share our Strength and an after party, the details of which have yet to be announced.

This should be a great opportunity for restaurants from the area, likely including nearby suburbs such as Hialeah, to promote their business. Local Print companies may be asked to provide digital Business Cards that can be handed out to the public.

Iron Fork is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Miami on July 31 from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. General admission tickets are $50 in advance or $65 at the door, while VIP tickets are $85 and $100. Contact Nathalie Batista at 305-571-7525 to find out more details about this event.
