Area festival prepares packed itinerary

The River Cities Festival is taking place for three days this April in Miami Springs.

There will be a wide variety of activities to choose from during the festival, including a dog show, a cake bakeoff, a chili showdown and a 5K run/walk.

Visitors are invited to bring their own water vessel and take part in the 2nd annual River Ride, although they should note that power boats are not allowed. There will also be an art contest, fishing tournament, writing contest, and wine and cheese tastings. The community tent will feature local nonprofit organizations that will be providing information about their programs and services.

In addition, vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts and general merchandise, with kids’ rides, concerts, and the 6th annual MSSH Mega Reunion there to entertain guests too.

Vendor spots are still available, from $100 for nonprofit groups up to $450 for local businesses. Vendors will no doubt travel from nearby communities like Hialeah, and will be contacting local printing companies to invest in Signs and Banners to bring attention to their booths, services, and products.

The River Cities Festival is taking place in and around Circle Park in Miami Springs from April 10 to 12. Admission is free. To find out more about this upcoming event, contact Tom Curtis at 786-262-4616.
