International trade organization convenes in Boca Raton

Boca Raton and Palm Beach County have become known as “Wall Street South” because of their growing influence within the financial and investment communities. A major conference is coming to town in March as further evidence of South Florida’s growing importance in the global economy.

The Futures Industry Association (FIA) will host its International Futures Industry Conference in Boca Raton in mid-March. The meetings will involve leaders in national and global financial markets, particularly in the derivatives market.

The FIA was founded in 1955 in New York, later moving its operations to Washington, DC. Its reach broadened in 1993 when its London affiliate opened, with even more global expansion in the coming years. The FIA’s website states:

“Our mission: To support open, transparent, and competitive markets, protect and enhance the integrity of the financial system, and promote high standards of professional conduct.”

Derivatives are a type of financial contract involving an underlying asset. Because of varying international regulatory environments, the FIA gathers international leaders within the sector each year to network, promote best practices, and support trading efficiency. Attendees may wish to trade business cards or look for poster printing while in the conference exhibition hall.

The International Futures Industry Conference will be held March 8-11, 2026, at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Registration is required, with a range of available registration levels, ranging from $795 for guests to $2,215 for members. Further information is available at the organization website. Alternately, those interested may contact the FIA.
