Eatery looks to make the most of the summer

A Rocky Hill restaurant has enjoyed a boom in custom during the summer and is now looking to become a “permanant seasonal establishment”, Courant.com has reported.

Shad Row, according to owner Jenna Cavalieri who spoke to the news site, has gained more staff but a possible opening for breakfast must take a backseat until she can put down more seating.

Cavalieri is scheduled to meet with the planning and zoning commission on August 20 to discuss the idea in the hope that the commission will grant her a bigger second-floor deck, more tables on the bank of the Connecticut River, and live music on the weekends. She also plans to remodel Shad Row to reflect the expansions.

The restaurant has already gone through several changes. Originally, the restaurant had a fire pit, but this has since been removed. Families can play bocci games and corn hole until their food is ready.

Eclectic food is a popular choice for business partners wanting to try out a new restaurant for lunch, although they have to have the restaurant's information handy. Many restaurants snap up digital Business Cards, which are paper-based but are able to be scanned by mobile devices. Executives can then simply look up the information in their phones or tablets to get directions, operating hours, and call for a reservation if necessary.
