Changes in center development see residential area addition

Officials behind the Town Center West project in Rocky Hill announced a change of plan last month.

Originally, the property was going to be used only as a commercial site, but Richard W. Vicino, who will be developing the area, will drastically decrease the space reserved for commercial purposes and add over 100 apartments to the property as approved by the planning and zoning commission of the town.

Vicino wanted to use the alterations to the plan as a catalyst to begin construction on the 26 acres between West Street and Cromwell Avenue. He has been planning the project for nearly four years. The area is easily seen and experiences a lot of traffic, and has been handed over to the town by Connecticut Light & Power Co.

Not counting the separate restaurant, the commercial area will equal 63,000 square feet of the property split up into three buildings on one side. On the other side will stand five buildings of three stories each, housing apartments, and other residential facilities.

The new apartment complex will need to market its units to potential tenants and let them know about the layouts, rent, and amenities available. Those promoting new complexes can do this through a brochure printing company that can recreate the elegance and style on paper, attracting renters who want to be closer to a commercial area.
