One of the roles of a library is often to offer continuing education programming, and the one that serves Greeley patrons has an event in the works that may help patrons to discover the joys of indoor gardening.
The High Plains Library District will be offering the area an opportunity to participate in an online workshop that will take a page from the ‘For Dummies’ book series when it comes to growing houseplants. It is appropriate for adults, and will be one hour in length.
The function will offer an introduction to an assortment of topics that may help lead to horticultural success. Plant care tips, suggestions for watering and fertilizing, taking advantage of indoor microclimates, propagation, pruning, and staking are just some of the items on the syllabus. Disease and pest prevention and control will also be discussed, and the learning will be geared towards newbie green thumbs.
Even if an event is being offered online, the participants may still appreciate receiving learning materials to complement their learning. These may be obtained by working with area Stationery printers, and they can be sent out by mail or made available for pick up in person.
The High Plains Library District has made plans to share this learning opportunity on August 9. It will run from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Questions can be directed to the host at askus@highplains.us.
