Greeley Teens create for spring break
The Centennial Park Library is looking to help Greeley teens bust out of the rut of their days off from school with Spring Break Boredom Busters: Teen Edition.
The two-day event provides creatively themed activities and new technology, and is a year-round activity series that is aimed at schoolchildren of all ages. For teens, the activities are often high-interest and technologically themed, and this spring is no exception, with events that may be of interest to those tempted by a career with printing companies.
The first day’s activity revolves around 3-D printing. Participants will get a brief tutorial on the 3-D design software and a demo of the printer in action. Afterwards, they will be allowed to work on their own creations. At the end of the day, teens will be allowed to take their custom design home with them.
The second day revolves around screen-printing. Teens will learn how T-shirts are made from graphic designs on the computer. Other applications of screen-printing work will also be discussed. Following the discussion, teens will be allowed to make their own print on an item of their choosing.
The sessions will be held on March 21 and 23 at the Centennial Park Library, located at 2227 23rd Ave. Admission is free to anyone in grades 7-12. Anyone looking for more information should contact the library directly.
