Greeley session to introduce art of xeriscaping
Xeriscaping is the art of gardening using plants that need little water, and a workshop will help Greeley property owners decide if the practice will work well for them.
The Life After Lawn program has been set up to help make it easy to ditch the lawn, and install native species and other features that do not require a lot of water to thrive. The city offers an initiative that rewards those who choose to do so, and a workshop will help everyone who would like to take advantage of this to get off to a flying start.
In early 2021, the initiative will kick off with an online informational meeting, and those in attendance will learn how the program works and the benefits of taking part. The application process will be reviewed, and attending one of these workshops is a requirement to participate in the Life After Lawn program.
Hosting an activity is one of the ways a community can encourage property owners to have a beautiful and environmentally friendly yard. Stationery printers can aid in spreading the word by preparing postcards and other mailers to send out to local households explaining the benefits of this sort of initiative.
The online session has been planned for January 13, and it will run from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Questions about the function can be directed to Ruth Quade at 970-350-9874.
