Parents in the Greeley area who are looking to brush up their parenting technique need look no further than the Parenting with Love and Logic Way Seminar. The event focuses on a series of approaches to raising children made popular by the book of the same name.
The original Love and Logic program was developed by Jim Fay, along with Dr. Charles Fay and Dr. Foster Cline. Jim Fay and and Dr. Cline worked together on the book from which the method was based. The method focuses on how to discipline children without losing their love and respect, as well as helping children develop responsibility, self-control, and decision-making skills. They have been helping parents and educators learn these methods for over 30 years.
The seminar is being led by Brooke Minkel, an educator in Greeley since 2001 and an independent facilitator for the Love and Logic program for the past six years. She will provide a full set of materials for the course, including work packets and booklet printings meant to guide the discussion and help participants play out situations and their possible responses. Afterwards, some time will be available for questions and answers.
Parenting with Love and Logic will be held on February 28, starting at 6:00 pm at the Centennial Park Library located at 2227 23rd Ave. Attendance is free but preregistration is required. Anyone looking for more info should contact the library directly.
