Multi-talented performer comes to Fort Collins

Singer and songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello will be performing at the Aggie Theater this October.

The Grammy-winning musician has entered a new phase in her career with her debut on Blue Note Records, "The Omnichord Real Book." This visionary album, deeply influenced by jazz, follows her covers project "Ventriloquism" released five years ago, and showcases her diverse musical roots. Produced by Josh Johnson, the album boasts a lineup of guest artists such as Jason Moran, Jeff Parker, Ambrose Akinmusire, Brandee Younger, Mark Guiliana, Julius Rodriguez, Joel Ross, Cory Henry, Thandiswa, and Joan As Police Woman.

Released in June this year, "The Omnichord Real Book" is inspired by Ndegeocello’s personal journey through grief and self-discovery after her parents' passing. Her childhood connection to her parent's record collection, adorned with the Blue Note insignia, holds a special place in her heart, making her debut on the label a meaningful milestone in her career.
