Next week, Fort Collins folk can attend an open exhibition that will feature a large scale art installation and a group of drawings.
The will end with a live performance, featuring the foot-stomping sounds of the string band Zahatar. The promoters of this showcase and performance might have selected poster printing as a way to inform the public about the event.
The theme is ‘The Little Country’, and the event will feature some Celtic melodies that have been converted for stringed instruments to be used by this trio of performers. The group will perform a cycle of songs, all planned as a celebration of music and Books.
Local artisan Scott Laumann has converted the performance space, allowing the music to highlight the art installation. Performers are violinist Christopher Grano, cellist Sara Hoskins, pennywhistle player Veronica Patterson, harpist Emily Smith, violist Scott Stewart, and percussionist Shilo Stroman. There will be a spoken word segment to the performance as well.
Admission to the art exhibition is free, although the concert costs $20 per adult and $10 for students. The Little Country: Art Installation and Performance from Wednesday, May 21 to Saturday, May 24, starting at 12:00 pm. The concert follows on the Saturday at 7:00 pm
