Peter Gabriel is leading “i/o – The Tour” in support of his new album, which will be released some time in 2023. He will perform new material from the album, as well as doing a dive into his extensive catalog of music with fan favorites, classic hits, and some surprises. His touring musicians are his usual lot, David Rhodes, Tony Levin, and Manu Katché. As a treat for fans, each month on the full moon, new music from the forthcoming album is being released.
Gabriel was Genesis’s original lead singer, which brought him extensive recognition. He left the band in 1975 and began his solo career by launching his first single “Solsbury Hill.” In 1986 he dropped “So,” his fifth studio album, which became his best-selling effort and went 5x Platinum in the United States and 3x Platinum in the United Kingdom. The single “Sledgehammer” was a mammoth hit, winning nine MTV Awards in 1987, a record. A review describes Gabriel at a recent performance as:
“ . . . a man happy to still be keeping it real in a world of fakes after all these years.”
Peter Gabriel will be at the Ball Arena on Monday, October 16. Events like this can be promoted if organizers use poster printing to create great advertisements.
