What's Happening in Denver, CO…

International pop group comes to Denver

In 2004, a group formed that has achieved massive success with their blend of modern music, Irish tunes, and dance.

Celtic Woman, an all-female vocal group, was the brainchild of Sharon Browne and David Downes, who was inspired to form the band by his work on the smash hit “Riverdance.” Their sound has been likened to Irish acts like Clannad and Enya.

Their first release was 2005’s “Celtic Woman,” which soared directly to No. 1 on the Billboard World Music Chart, where it stayed for 81 weeks. The group built their fanbase by touring extensively, averaging 35 weeks annually on the road.

PBS broadcast their specials live, and when they released their second effort, “Celtic Woman: A Christmas Celebration” in 2006, it went to No. 1, dethroning their first album. Then, 2007’s “Celtic Woman: A New Journey,” a crossover success, went to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart, and No. 1 on the World Music listings. At this point, their three albums occupied the top three chart spots.

Celtic Woman has continued their success, releasing their latest album, “Christmas Cards from Ireland,” in 2022, as well performing live. A review says:

“Amazing show. 10/10 would recommend. Beautiful voices and really care about their fans and their show. You can feel the emotion in the songs.”

Celtic Woman will perform at the Boettcher Concert Hall on December 5. The doors open at 7.30 pm. When events of this type are planned, organizers can use poster printing to successfully advertise them.
