Bush got together in 1992 in London, with founding members Corey Britz, Chris Traynor, Robin Goodridge, and Gavin Rossdale. Rossdale decided to form a band after leaving his group Midnight and meeting guitarist Nigel Pulsford, who had just left King Blank. Once Rossdale and Pulsford were set, they brought on Robin Goodridge on drums and guitarist Dave Parsons. The line-up currently still includes Britz, Traynor, and Rossdale, with Nik Hughes on drums.
Once the original band was organized they needed a name, and settled on “Bush,” since they often met in the Shepherd’s Bush section of London. Their debut album, “Sixteen Stone,” dropped in 1994 and went to the No. 4 spot on the Billboard Music Charts in the United States. They had even better luck with their second album, “Razorblade Suitcase,” which went to No. 1 in the States and ranked well on charts across Europe.
The band broke up in 2002 but reunited in 2010, releasing “The Sea of Memories,” in 2011. The album was a success and the track “The Sound of Winter” hit No. 1 on the charts.
