Indie rockers coming to Denver

Indie rockers who do not shy away from a darker tone will perform in Denver.

Manchester Orchestra takes its name from the English city of Manchester, which is home to bands such as The Stone Roses, and The Smiths, which Manchester Orchestra admires. The group got together in Atlanta in 2004, and gained the notice of the music world with their first album, provocatively titled “I Feel Like a Virgin Losing a Child,” released in 2008. The “heavy” subject matter and the band’s style finalized the approach the group would take in its subsequent albums. They have now released six, dropping their latest, “The Million Masks of God,” in 2021.

Their work has been used in video games, television shows, and several films. A review says:

“Manchester Orchestra are one of those bands who you either love or… well, love! . . . You can expect to dance, jump and push each other around and get lost in their profound and sorrowful songs.”

Touring with the Orchestra is Petey. A Detroit native who rose to fame as a TikTok comedian, Peter Martin is now finding his feet as a musician, based on his philosophy of being as kind as possible. A songwriter as well as a singer, his album “Lean Into Life” dropped in 2021.

The Manchester Orchestra and Petey will appear at the Mission Ballroom in Denver on October 5. Colorful Posters are effective at promoting events like this, and can be created using poster printing.
