Denver prepares to host holiday light festival downtown

One of the most anticipated holiday events in the Mile-High City is coming up this December, giving families a chance to start a new tradition.

The 2026 9 NEWS Parade of Lights has announced that it will return to downtown Denver, adding another year of history and legacy to an event that has been held for over five decades. With assistance from Downtown Denver Partnership, organizers are looking forward to bringing the tradition to fruition and provide individuals, groups of friends, and families a welcoming environment to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

The host site will be family-friendly, and children of all ages are welcome. The parade has over 40 floats committed, plus several massive balloons and impressive cultural displays. The cost-effective nature of flyer and poster printing makes both an ideal fit when promoting events like this in large cities like Denver.

Guests will also witness marching bands perform and listen to live musical performances. Filling out the parade experience will be equestrians and famous holiday characters. Major Waddles the Penguin and Santa Claus are expected to make appearances, adding another fun layer for children in the crowd.

Attendees can meet at 1480 Bannock Street in Denver ahead of the parade, which starts at 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 5. Grandstand ticket reservations cost $35.15 per person online.
