The 33rd Annual Estes Park Rotary in the Denver area will present Duck Race Festival in coming weeks.
The event continues a tradition that began in 1989 and has generated over $2.4m for local organizations and charities over the years.
Little yellow ducks are “adopted” with $19 of every adoption going to designated charities. Every year, 60 to 70 local charities and nonprofit entities are chosen to be a participating organization. The rotary handles all of the tasks involved, including administration, financial, and operational components for the Duck Race.
The ducks are released to float down Fall River until they reach the finish line where volunteers collect them. Duck adopters are eligible to win prizes. The funds collected benefit the charities participating in the Duck Race based on the number of adoptions that will get credited to each entity.
Banners create great signage that is highly visible for bustling outdoor events. The banner printing can include sponsor information, locations, and directions. Local Print shops are available to assist with creating Banners when needed.
Sponsors over the years have included Nicky’s Cattlemen’s Steakhouse and Seafood, Bank of Colorado, Alpine Gardens, Rambo’s Longhorn Liquor, Estes Park Health, State Farm, and Inkwell and Brew.
The 2021 Duck Race Festival will take place on May 1, beginning a pre-flight show at noon, with appearance by the Lucky Duck mascot. The race will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
