Tiwatope Savagery, who goes by the name Tiwa Savage, is a British-Nigerian actress, songwriter, and singer. She was born in Nigeria but moved to London when she was 11. Her career in music started five years later, when she sang backup for such artists as Mary J. Blige and George Michael.
In 2009, the music industry in Nigeria was growing rapidly, so Savage returned to her birth country where, in 2012, she signed with Marvin Records. She released her debut album in 2013, and never looked back. The debut was called “Once Upon a Time,” and the Nigeria Entertainment Awards held in 2014 nominated the effort for “Best Album of the Year.” At The Headies that same year, the album won a nomination as “Best R&B/Pop Album.”
She dropped “R.E.D.,” her second studio album, in 2015, and released “Sugarcane,” her first EP, in 2017. Both were nominated for “Best Album,” and Savage herself was nominated for the BET Awards, the first Nigerian female artist to win the honor. A review says:
“. . . fans could not get enough of the Diva as she took charge of the stage.”
Tiwa Savage will be at the Marquis Theater in Denver on May 31. When organizers of events like this want to create stunning advertising, they can turn to poster printing.
