Wine fest approaches in San Rafael
It is only about four months now until the 7th Annual San Rafael Food and Wine Festival comes to the Falkirk Cultural Center. The festival is presented by Steven Restivo Event Services and the Historic Falkirk Cultural Center. Admission to the event is free.
Popular and well-known area restaurants will feature their food specialties, along with samples from over 25 of the region’s wineries. Tickets will be available to participate in the food and wine sampling and wristbands will be given for a tasting glass. Adults of 21 years of age and older may participate. Tickets may be purchased in advance via the event website or on the day of the festival on a ‘cash only’ basis.
Entertainment will be provided, featuring jazz and classical music from some of the best musicians from the region. The Falkirk Cultural Center is a historic building with 17 rooms decorated in Queen Anne Victorian theme surrounded by lush landscaping. The center also hosts a Contemporary Art Gallery with exhibitions that change frequently, many provided by Bay Area artists. Public performances are held at the center regularly, along with art classes for children.
Another popular attraction at the Falkirk Cultural Center is the poetry center, in which many readings, classes, and special presentations are offered frequently at the center focusing on the art.
