Street painting festival comes to San Rafael

The Italian Street Painting Marin festival is taking place for two days this July in downtown Sa Rafael. This year's theme is "Carnivale di Venezia".

This annual event is expected to showcase the work of 100 master street painters, better known as chalk artists. Some of those participating are San Rafael residents Luis Artiga and Joel Yau, plus others from as far away as Italy or Mexico.

The opening ceremony will feature the Flight of the Chalk Angel, a parade of costumes on the Rafael Rialto Bridge and a RareArtist Exhibition. In advance of the event, there will be a mask making competition.

There will be a Children's Avenue in which children between the ages of 2 and 12 can try their hand at chalk painting for $10 each.

The festival will also feature lots of Bay Area musicians including Ken Emerson Slack and Steel Guitar, Moonalice, Corinne West and the Good Karma Jazz Ensemble.

To advertise events such as this festival, San Rafael printing companies often provide products such as Brochures and Flyers to be distributed in the community.
