Italian Street Painting Marin: Ciao Bella Roma is taking place next month in downtown San Rafael over two days. The event will raise funds for the EveryLife Foundation for Race Diseases.
More than 100 master street painters from around the world will be participating in the festival. There will be hundreds of reproductions of famous paintings and sculptures. One of the most anticipated will be a 3D painting of the Trevi Fountain that will be created by Master Madonnara, Julie Kirk-Purcell, and a team of young artists.
The festival will also feature the Rare Artist contest, a Youth in Arts display, and live entertainment. Some of the musical acts that have been confirmed for this year’s event include the Hands on Fire Band, Dirty Cello, and The 7th Son. There will also be Taiko drumming performances.
A special Children’s Avenue will feature kids’ street painting. They will be given a 2 x 2-foot square and a box of chalk for a $10 donation.
Residents of San Rafael who are employed by graphic design companies will likely wish to check out the artwork.
Ciao Bella Roma will be held in San Rafael from June 25 to 26, beginning at 10:00 AM each day. Admission is $10 or $15 for both days, while children aged 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Call 415-884-2023 to learn more.
