A San Rafael group is running a volunteer activity in early July that involves the environment.
Memorial Trail Day is an event in which the community will work to bring together two local trails, while also fixing the newly put-together path to be open for use by everyone. This experience allows for those who are at least 12 years of age to meet others and improve their local area. The maintenance will help reduce the effects of erosion as well.
The paths being put together are Devon Drive and Terra Linda Ridge. Realigning the trail is an activity that counts towards both community service and NICA Trail Corps hours/credits. Flyer printing often promotes community service events like this.
The Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC) will feed everyone who helps out with The Memorial Trail Improvement Project. The initial gathering location is just a bit beyond 238 Ridgewood Dr, which is along Memorial Trail. Each person is required to come with their own sturdy shoes, gloves, and water bottle. There is no cost for participation, however, registration must be completed. This is accessible on MCBC’s website. Service dogs are permitted to attend with their owners, but other animals are not allowed to do so.
The activity will start off at 8:45am on July 8th, drawing to a close at 12:45pm on the same date.
