San Rafael kids to be kitted out at back-to-school event
As part of efforts to give back to the community, residents of San Rafael have been urged to come together to support school children by giving them the supplies they need.
The aim of this event is to prepare kids for their return to school with all relevant educational materials, such as water bottles, gift cards, backpacks, food, and other school supplies. According to the organizers of the event, a backpack full of school supplies will be provided to serve as a motivation for the first day of school.
The ‘Back 2 School’ giveaway event is open to San Rafael residents, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and families with students. At the event, school supplies and backpacks will be provided to students attending Marin County Schools.
The event is organized as a fundraiser with the intent to generate support for schoolchildren. It will feature prizes, raffles, games, music, dancing and other fun activities. Students are expected to attend with their families to receive their school supplies.
Supporting sponsors of the community event include Young Moms Marin, Go Go Squeez Pouch, Equator Coffee, and Sports Basement. Organizations looking to giveaway prize samples and other supplies are required to register for a booth.
Attendance is free for the fundraiser, which is scheduled to take place on August 3. Already, the organizers of the Back 2 School Free Community Event are considering adopting flyer printing to enhance publicity.
