San Rafael fair to make summer appearance

A San Rafael event, which often sees the number of attendees go into six figures, is coming back in early July.

The Marin County Fair is run by both the Marin Cultural Association and the Marin County Department of Cultural Services. The event has been recognized as the greenest, as well as the healthiest, county fair ever since 2008. Even with these labels, the event still has many of the traditional experiences of the typical county fair. This includes contests, rides, tasty treats, music, performance acts, a market, interactive crafts, showcases, and educational experiences. The carousel and stage are both run via solar power.

There is also a display of fireworks put on nightly throughout the duration of the event, starting at 9:30pm.

Tickets are $20 until July 2nd. After this, the price shifts to $25. July 4th attendance will cost $30, which is also the price for a pass which is valid on any of the dates. Gold Circle Reserved Tickets for the concerts will include fair entry, and these are $65. Those who are either active in the military or a child up to three won’t have to pay the entry fee to the fair. On July 3rd, kids up to 12, adults 65 or older, and any veterans who arrive with ID, will all also be granted free entry. Tickets are sold via the event’s website.

The festivities will run between 11:00am and 11:00pm from July 3rd - July 7th. Flyer printing commonly aids organizers in advertising fairs and carnivals. The venue is at 10 Ave of the Flags.
