Residents of San Rafael will have a chance to join a special Nia Marin class next month. Called Nia Jam, it will be a special event celebrating the release of a routine.
Nia Jam is a ‘Nia’ event, meaning it is all about dance and fitness. The newest routine brought into the Nia group is called SOURCE, and Kelle Rae Oien was the choreographer. Music was put together by Lia Addison, a local singer and musician, who will be performing live at the event.
Nia Marin is a fitness center located in San Rafael, on Andersen Drive. The Nia focus is on mind, body, and spirit working together towards fitness. The routines take aspects of dance, martial arts, and other influences to create a workout that organizers says is for everyone, regardless of age or gender.
The two-hour class invites attendees to arrive half an hour early to take part in a raffle. After the event, there will be complimentary coffee, tea, and water for attendees as well. This event is also somewhat social, as Nia invites all participants to chat after the class is over, as they do with their regular classes.
Events like this often use flyer printing to help spread the word, especially as this is a special event. Tickets are currently on sale, and some will be for sale at the door, although space is limited. This event is currently scheduled for 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 9.
