Local store to welcome writer

An author will be stopping by a bookstore in early April. This event is sure to entertain San Rafael residents.

The Bohemians is a novel written by Jasmin Darznik, following the story of Dorothea Lange, a photographer who got her start during the heyday of jazz. Later in her career, Lange took the picture known as “Migrant Mother”, which is one of the most famous photos. There are also appearances by Caroline Lee, Maynard Dixon, Ansel Adams, Frida Kahlo, and more.

Darznik has multiple New York Times Bestselling Novels/Books under her belt. Some of her other Books include The Good Daughter: A Memoir Of My Mother’s Hidden Life, as well as Song Of A Captive Bird.

Born in Iran, Darznik immigrated to America when she was aged five. She has earned multiple degrees from various universities, one being Princeton. She works currently for California College of the Arts as a professor, teaching both Creative Writing and English.

The signing/meet and greet will be hosted at Book Passage in Corte Madera. At similar events, authors will often have Promotional Products on their table, including items like bookmarks with photos of their work on them. The store requires all attendees to wear a mask when inside their location. The event itself is free, although the book costs $17. Guests will be able to begin the experience at 1:00 pm on April 9.
