Local company creates advisory firm

The San Rafael-based Polaris Wealth Advisors has announced that it will form a new investment advisory firm through a combination with a financial services company, Greystone Financial Group, which is based in Michigan.

The new firm will have as much as $1bn in client assets to manage.

The announcement of the two companies forming Polaris Greystone Financial Group LLC came on October 21. The business mission of the new company is to provide retirement services and wealth management to business owners and families that have a high net worth. Many companies, when they merge or create new firms, invest in new products such as custom Business Cards and Promotional Products.

According to the North Bay Business Journal, Jeffrey J. Powell, the founder of Polaris, will remain CEO, chief investment officer, and managing partner of the newly formed company. Todd R. Moss, who co-founded Greystone, is now senior partner and president of Polaris Greystone. He will assist in managing the daily operations of the firm.

Powell stated that the combination of the two companies joins two investment advisory firms that are well established, and allows them to provide enhanced retirement planning and wealth management services to their clients. Powell added that the two companies share the same commitments and values, and that together, a broader set of solutions can be offered to professionals, families, and private businesses.

Moss commented that the current financial services market is challenging, and that greater scale helps investment advisors deliver the best resources to their clients.
