Family-friendly Christmas music tribute to be held

An event taking place in mid-December is giving San Rafael residents a chance to enjoy some classic seasonal hits, while also honoring the composer.

A Holiday Tribute to Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas is a performance of the music from the animated TV special. The soundtrack was recorded in 1965, with much of it including The Vince Guaraldi Trio. The other group members are Dean Reilly and Eddie Duran. Guaraldi recorded 15 albums for various projects relating to the Peanuts comic strip over his career.

The performers on stage for the concert will be Jason Crosby, Steve Adams, Lebo, and Ezra Lipp. Families are welcome to come along and spend an afternoon celebrating the season. The venue, Sweetwater Music Hall, also offers access to a bar and a selection of food. Tickets are made available at the entrance for $30, or online for $25. The latter is only sold prior to the concert’s date. Anyone planning to attend with children must also get them a ticket, regardless of age. If purchasing for someone else or transferring passes, information like a picture showing the purchaser’s photo ID, order number, and a note approving the change will be required.

The Mill Valley spot will open its door for attendees at 12:00 noon. The will call area will also open at this point, allowing for tickets to be picked up. Poster printing is a popular method of promoting activities related to music. The festivities are booked for a 1:00 pm start on Sunday, December 17.
