The San Rafael Citizen Advisory Committee for the Sustainable San Rafael organization will hold a meeting on January 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Rafael City Hall in the 3rd floor conference room.
The agenda has many items scheduled for debate. General discussion will take place between the committee members and Public Work Director Nader Mansourian. The economic vision is a key interest for the committee and the community, and the next order of business will be the election of the Chairperson and Vice-Chair for the upcoming year.
A break for open discussion will follow. The next topic will be directed at possible dates and locations for the San Rafael Advisory Committee’s annual dinner along with topics for future meetings.
Sustainable San Rafael is a group consisting of community-based volunteers supporting advocacy for sustainability for the city. Some of the topics explored and debated include zero waste, clean energy, green building, water conservation, and transportation. Setting metrics for measuring impacts of sustainability efforts is an initiative for the committee.
Sustainability groups work with allied associates and groups to implement a grassroots agenda for many issues. Some of those issues are related to global warming pollutants, toxic waste, support of green business programs, new green building codes, waste reduction and reuse, clean and renewable power and water conservation with a sustainable supply.
Printing companies assist with movements such as those targeted by the Sustainable San Rafael organization. Printing services are often needed to advertise upcoming events to increase awareness and interaction.
