Bike ride hopes to raise awareness of Lyme disease

The 4th annual Ryde for Lyme bike ride is taking place next month in San Rafael. It is a fundraiser for the LymeLight Foundation.

Participants can choose between several courses from 30 miles up to 200 miles. Each rider must have raised a minimum of $250 in order to ride. The top fundraisers will have the opportunity to choose between a number of prizes.

The goal for this year is to raise at least $90,000. So far, registered riders have donated around half of that amount.

This is a family-friendly event and people of all ages are encouraged to take part. After the ride, participants can enjoy massages and food, and will all receive goodie Bags filled with promotional items for the ride.

For those participating, there are official jerseys available for purchase for $51.75. Riders can also choose between other promotional items, such as sunglasses, a cup cozy, T-Shirts, and a bandana.
