Originally built 30 years ago, Alta Loma Plaza, located at the southeast corner of Carnelian and 19th streets, has in the past been anchored by a Ralphs, Hannam Chain Market World and most recently Island Pacific from 2012 to 2014.
Progressive Real Estate Partners president, Brad Umansky, said he believes that the new Sprouts will be more successful than previous supermarkets that were geared toward the ethnic food market. Pointing out that earlier stores simply may not have been the most suitable for the locale, he said:
“Ethnic supermarkets need to be in a more regional location. I would suspect 80 percent of the shoppers at Sprouts can come within 2 miles of the location.”
According to Umansky, renovations in the range of plus $1 million have recently been made to Alta Loma Plaza by the current owners; moreover, Sprouts likely will spend a couple of million dollars on improvements.
When the time comes for a store’s opening a banner and flyer printing service can be most helpful. An announcement of the new Sprouts grand opening date will take place about three months before the store is finished.
Phoenix-based Sprouts operates in 13 states; the Alta Loma Sprouts will be the second in Rancho Cucamonga.
