Rancho Cucamonga zine festival to promote local artists

Next month, Rancho Cucamonga will hold Zomics: A Festival of Zines and Comics to promote the local SoCal and IE-based comic and zine community.

The Zomics Festival will be organized by the Chaffey College Library; the Arts, Communication, and Design Academic and Career Community; Curious Publishing; The Arts Area; and the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art. Funding and support for this event and those like it is also possible due to the contribution of the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation.

The festival will highlight local creators, distributors, and publishers who work in the field of small-press materials. It will be an opportunity for the community to meet the artists, discuss their work, and purchase their comics and zines. There will not only be vendors set up but also plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as live screen-printing, button-making, and musical performances. There will also be light refreshments available.

Print and publishing events like this will often draw the attention of local Print shops in the area that may either wish to attend or sponsor the event.

The event, which is free to attend, is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 29 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. It will be held at the Wignall Museum of Comtempory Art, located at 5885 Haven Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga.
