In celebration of the Lunar New Year, the first annual Rancho Cucamonga Lunar Festival will be held next month.
Panana Events in conjunction with the City of Rancho Cucamonga will host the event for the community. The festival will highlight the cultures of Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, and China, and it will celebrate the coming Year of the Rabbit.
The two-day festival will feature performances from Japanese taiko drummers, kung fu experts, lion and dragon dances, and traditional instrumentals from the Merano Cultural Group. There will also be a martial arts demonstration from the Filipino Martial Arts. For the younger attendees, K-pop band M.A.D. Dance Studios will be putting on a high-energy show.
An artisan marketplace will also be set up with vendors selling wares such as handmade jewelry, Japanese dolls, and hand-written calligraphy from Vietnam and China. Food offerings will include cumin lamb skewers, flame-grilled squid, and steamed buns and dumplings.
Cultural festivals such as this will often feature elegantly crafted Banners to provide a festive atmosphere, and local Print shops can help organizers with banner printing.
The 2023 Rancho Cucamonga Lunar Festival will be held on January 21 and January 22. It will take place at the Rancho Cucamonga Sports Center, which is located at 8303 Rochester Avenue. Both admission and parking will be free.
