Rancho Cucamonga prepares for weekend of racing

The annual Auto Club 400 festivities will begin in Rancho Cucamonga with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hauler Parade.

Fontana will host a big NASCAR weekend, bringing multitudes of people to the area. While some will come just for the race, others will also come for one or both of the kick-off events. Local companies will tie into the event as much as possible without running afoul of licensing laws, and will no doubt be conferring with their Print company to come up with promotional ideas.

The buildup to what many consider to the biggest Southern California sporting event begins with the popular NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hauler Parade in Rancho Cucamonga on March 17 at 6:00 pm. Starting at Quakes Baseball Stadium, the convoy of NASCAR Sprint Cup haulers, 40 in all, will make its way to Bass Pro Shops, which will feature a special viewing area and on to the speedway arriving between 7:00 pm and 7:15 pm.

As the parade is making its way to the speedway, a NASCAR FanFest will be taking place from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The free event, hosted by Bubba Burger, will feature a main stage with NASCAR driver appearances and live music. The O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone will also host family-friendly entertainment and vendors.

The big race will start at 12:30 pm on March 20 and will include all the top drivers of NASCAR.
