The Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department's Risk Management team is currently hosting its FCC Amateur Radio (Technician) Class, with the last class happening at the beginning of July.
The Rancho Cucamonga Risk Management Team is part of the emergency management division of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department (RCFD). Its mission is to prepare Rancho Cucamonga residents for national disasters by providing community disaster preparedness training programs. The division is currently hosting the radio operator program each Thursday for residents wanting to become an FCC (Federal Communications Commission) radio technician, which may prove useful in a disaster.
The training class will delve into various techniques and tips for how to pass the FCC Licensing Exam. Expert instructors will guide students through learning self-study skills, so that students can continue their instruction at home. Participants will need to purchase their own book entitled ARRL Ham Radio License Manual 4th Edition.
Educational workshops like this often also provide study materials, such as packets and Brochures, to go alongside textbooks, which makes brochure printing services useful to organizers of such events.
The FCC radio technician training is currently going on each Thursday night, with the last class slated for July 1. The venue is RCFD All-Risk Training Center on 11285 Jersey Boulevard, Rancho Cucamonga. The class is free to attend, except for the purchase of the accompanying textbook.
